It's National Vitamin C Day tomorrow so here's your reminder to get your daily dose in!
Whenever I think of vitamin C, I think of oranges since they are a great source of it for your body. BUT what about your skin? Yes, you heard that right. There are so many benefits for adding vitamin C to your body and skin care routines. Keep on scrolling to learn more.
Did you know?
Vitamin C is a protein that's already found in your skin to help keep it from sagging. As your body ages, your body's production of collagen decreases. Adding vitamin C to your skincare routine can encourage your body to produce more collagen. Vitamin C also helps maintain the collagen you currently have which is so important since collagen helps us stay looking young by keeping skin tight and firm.
What are the benefits of vitamin C?
There are many studies and literature out there sharing the value of adding vitamin C to your routine but I'm going to share the main benefits: it helps prevent brown spots, it helps to reverse sun ray damage, and it helps to promote new collagen growth.
If you haven't added vitamin C serums to your skincare routine yet, don't worry, it's never to late to start! I've rounded up some of the current ones I'm using below.
Clinically tested to target fine lines and wrinkles, loss of firmness, and brighten skin's complexion.
My thoughts :: I just started adding this back again and I'm excited cause I've heard soooo many good things about it! In the past, I felt that this has also helped calm my acne prone skin too. Weird bonus, huh? No complaints here though!
An oil-free vitamin C serum targeting oily and blemish prone skin (this is so me so I'm super excited about this!) to help protect against environmental damage, reduce oiliness, and improve skin clarity.
My thoughts :: It's like they read my mind and created a serum for my oily, acne prone skin. I just got this and like how it's oil free so it won't clog my pores. Looking forward to using it more often!
A day time antioxidant serum that protects against environmental damage and targets fine lines and discoloration.
My thoughts :: the newest serum to join my skincare club that'll I be rotating with the others because I definitely want to target the discoloration I have from, well, everything (stress, acne, sleeping on my face, etc.) so I'm hoping to see some results with this.
This serum also has hyaluronic acid to moisturize and vitamin C to protect skin against environmental stressors - plus aloe and vitamin E to soothe and add moisture to your skin!
My thoughts :: I've been using this for awhile now and really like how it already has hyaluronic acid so I can save time and skip a step when I want to get ready quickly. It's very lightweight and doesn't feel heavy on the skin at all.
These patches brighten dark circles, reduce the appearance of wrinkles, and depuffs the under eye area. Just leave them on for 10 minutes when you want a quick eye refresher!
My thoughts :: one of my new fave products and I'm surprised cause I wasn't sure how I'd feel about using patches. I actually finish my face routine and put these on last while I get ready for work and take them off before heading out the door. There were many nights where I couldn't sleep for hours (my mind tends to think a lot) and I would use these the next day and no one would know or say anything. I'm a big fan of these now!
Well, if the name doesn't give it away I don't know what does (haha)! It's a spa-grade serum to boost skin's elasticity and fight free radical damage to your skin.
My thoughts :: I ran out of my other product with collagen so this has been my life saver (and time saver) since it already comes with it. Anything that's a 2-in-1 step, I like - because who doesn't love to save time? Especially when it gets late at night, I tend to get lazy and that's when these type of products comes in handy to shorten my skin care steps so I can quickly roll into bed afterwards.
What vitamin C products are you loving lately?
All these vitamin C serums are currently on rotation in my skincare routine right now (the SkinCeuticals ones just got added). There's no "set system" that I'm using. I just go by what I want to address at that time for that day since my skin is oily, acne-prone, and sometimes dry. It's a combination of everything! I do love using the eye patches though; I feel that they help brighten my eyes when I have those sleepless nights. All in all, having some sort of vitamin C added to your routine may help combat environmental damage and improve your skin. We're all aging every day and every little bit of effort helps!
As always, thanks for reading and sending you air hugs!
Many people think that when they are young, they do not have to take care of their skin because until they are much older, it does not matter. Skin care product reviews The natural skin moisture and oils are washed off with hot water.
