This past Sunday was a pretty big deal: our little boy turned ONE YEAR OLD.
Traditionally, we would've had a big grand celebration since turning one is a huge deal but, due to everything going on, we had a very intimate celebration at home, quarantined style. Our friends couldn't be there. Kyler wasn't able to meet and play with other kids. But we did have our immediate families there and that's all we can ask for right now. I'm grateful that we still can share these baby milestones together which makes it extra special.
Now planning this party took some time. I literally stayed up late nights for hours trying to figure out what theme to do, what decor to pick out, and creating "to-do" lists for myself. My mind, unfortunately, has always worked best late at night so my sleep isn't the best. Maybe it's the calmness in the night when everyone is sleeping and it's all quiet? I don't know but apparently that's when my creative juices get flowing the best (as I'm typing up this post at 4am today).
For Kyler's birthday theme, we wanted to pick something that he liked. He has 2 favorite TV shows and one of them happens to be Blue's Clues. Kyler loves seeing the host Josh figure out what Blue's clues are and smiles all the time throughout the show. So we decided a Blue's Clues birthday party theme it is!
So off I went googling ideas for inspo and let me tell you, there isn't much. Then I went on searching for Blue's Clues party decor ideas and barely found anything too (and if I did, they were so overpriced). This was frustrating. Where are all the Blue's Clues party supplies at?!? This forced me to be creative and try to pull things together on my own with what I could find. And I couldn't be more happy with the results. Planning a baby's first birthday during quarantine can be hard. Even though there may not a be a lot of people coming, you still want to make it special. I get it cause that was me too!
