It's like a breath of fresh air. For your face...
A couple weeks ago I got to try out an
oxygen facial at
FacialWorks in Huntington Beach and if you don't know what that is yet, don't worry, I'm hear to share all the details with ya!
First off, their Huntington Beach location is inside
Pacific City and if you haven't gone there yet, you MUST! It's a cute outdoor shopping area with a beach front view. I'm serious. It's on PCH (Pacific Coast Highway) so if you look right in front of you across the street, you'll see the beautiful waters of Huntington Beach. *le sigh*
Next,
FacialWorks is located on the second floor near
Blue Gold restaurant (super yummy if you have time to eat there!). Founder Meghan Gilboa wanted to create an open space where people could get skincare services at a reasonable rate without having to go through the long painful treatment. According to their website (
here), Meghan's concept gives customers the chance to get "40-minute hydrating oxygen facials for the affordable price of $50 in a cool facial bar setting." And yes, you can have an
oxygen facial and a mimosa too!
LIFESTYLE TIP :: Bring your parking ticket with you so you can get it validated (good for the first 2 hours).
And last but not least, they use all natural, pure, vegan products that are not only safe for the skin but effective as well. From vitamins to collagen boosts to aloe, peptides, and hyaluronic acid (my daily must!), they don't skip out on using powerful ingredients to treat the skin. In fact, their
brightening exfoliant product surprised me the most! When I think of exfoliating my skin, I'm so used to those little beads in the cleanser - anyone else like me?? But here, they used a chemical exfoliator on me and it had
no beads. Alright, I was sceptic at first but after it was applied to my skin, I could feel the tingling action and bubbles forming to exfoliate. Plus, this exfoliant has glycolic acid (which my skin LOVES) and lactic acid so it's no wonder this is one of their most popular products!
Still not sure why you should get an
oxygen facial? Well my dear, let me tell you more! The reason so many people are including this in their skincare routine is because it really does help. An
oxygen facial allows for deeper absorption of serums into the skin which gives off that glowing, tight skin look (and why it's become so popular!). They use that powerful tool (shown in photo below) to infuse their signature O2 serum into your skin to go deep into the layers to have a longer, lasting effect. All
FacialWorks oxygen facial treatment (
here) includes "a cleanse, exfoliation, masque, oxygen infusion, hydration, and finishing touches" that you can add for extra services. The treatment did not hurt at all for me and went by pretty quickly. Plus, they have a little vanity area if you want to touch up with makeup after.
Whatever your skin type is, they can help you here.
FacialWorks offers 3 different types of
oxygen facials: AgeWorks for anti-aging, HydraWorks for a boost of hydration, and ClearWorks to target breakouts. Since it's summer time and we've been having heat waves in SoCal, I combined the AgeWorks with HydraWorks facial and added the NeckWorks enhancement (see menu
here) cause sometimes the neck gets forgotten and it'll really shows signs of aging later. So remember to moisturize and treat your neck too! This photo below was taken right after my
oxygen facial and you can already see my skin glowing from the treatment! Yup, there's no makeup there, just a natural glow.
***Thanks to Nicole and the
FacialWorks team for making my skin feel so refreshed!***
