So you've got the engagement ring (congrats!) and now ready to look for a dress...
But this isn't just any dress, it's the wedding dress so you really want to make sure you pick out something you LOVE. To help with that, I'm sharing 5 tips I've picked up from my own personal experience.

5 Things to Think about when Wedding Dress Shopping:
1) What is your budget? First things first, you need to establish a budget. Then add a little more extra cushion. Depending on where you go, sometimes you find that perfect dress within your budget (which is awesome if you do!) and sometimes you fall in love with something slightly outside of your budget. That, unexpectedly, happened to me. I went in with a small budget in mind and ended up spending more than I thought. Apparently, it happens to many brides. So to balance it out, I tried to save money elsewhere (more on how to do this later).
2) What kind of dress style do you like? When you go wedding dress shopping, be open to trying on all different kinds of styles because you may go in thinking you like one specific style and end up loving another style. Especially if you don't usually wear dresses often, have your stylist pick out a range of different looks and just have fun trying them all on.
3) What color do you want to wear? The old, traditional way was to wear white but now things are different. For many of the dresses I tried on and liked, they were actually ivory not white. The ivory color helps to bring out the hue of the white lace which seems to be a popular things more brides are gravitating towards nowadays.
4) What type of material do you want to wear? As I just mentioned, there are lace gowns, satin gowns, gowns with tulle, etc. The choices are endless! So really be open during the first time you go wedding dress shopping and try on e-v-e-r-y-t-h-i-n-g. I can't stress that enough. You never know what style and material may end up surprising you.
5) What areas do you want to accentuate? Everybody has a favorite body part and it can be your arms, legs, butt, back, shoulders, chest, etc. Your wedding dress should highlight that.
Remember: don't feel pressured to feel rushed to purchasing something the first time you're wedding dress shopping. It's your wedding dress so take your time to find something you absolutely love. It really helps to try on dresses at a couple different places because they all carry different designers, styles, and price points. Plus, having your bridesmaids there can be your extra set of eyes to give you an honest opinion - they want to share this moment with you!
