The Proposal of #TKeverlasting

2.12.2017

It's officially happening...

After 15 years of dating, the then-boyfriend/now-fiance has popped the question and we are super excited! Read below on how the proposal went down.

Exactly one month ago today (01/12th), we started the day off doing one of my favorite winter activities: ice skating outdoors! My inner child just glows with excitement whenever I'm on the ice. At the Millennium Park, there's the infamous bean on one side, sky scrapers on another, and the busy streets on another side. You get a total feel of the city and I absolutely loved it!
Fun fact: when I was little I took ice skating lessons with my sisters and I used to want to be a figure skater when I grew up...and I still do (lol!).

After ice skating we went to see a view of the city. It was cloudy all day but then the sun decided to peek out during sunset which made the moment even more special.
*This photo was taken a couple minutes before he proposed and apparently he was nervous (supposedly that's normal to happen to guys right before they pop the question).

All of a sudden, he got down on one knee and proposed. I was shocked and thought he was just messing around with me so I didn't think he was serious (cause he's such a jokester!) until he showed the ring. Then that's when I realized what was happening. My first reply to his question? Of course!
*This photo was taken shortly after he proposed and it was truly a happy moment for both of us.

Our view (and forever favorite Chicago location) from the spot he proposed from the 95th floor at the Hancock Tower.

Afterwards, we celebrated our newly engaged moment with some cocktails (yes, they have a bar up here!) and watched the sun set and disappear into the city. Cheers to cosmos and old fashioned cocktails!

The celebration continued! That night, we also had reservations at Girl & the Goat which turned out to be one of the best meals during our entire trip! We highly recommend everything - it was so, SO good!

This was our first time visiting Chicago and definitely not our last. Oh windy city, you now have a piece of both our hearts. Until next time.
