Say hello to the Monday blues...

Took a little blogging break last week to celebrate my birthday (and my blogiversary on 05/19th!) but it feels so good to be back now! Earlier this month I went on a mini city road trip with the boyfriend out to the Ontario Mills Mall, an outlet filled with a variety of high to low end stores such as Forever21, Banana Republic, Old Navy, Lacoste, and more. During the month of May, the Ontario Mills Mall is having an "Accessorize Your Spring" event where tons of cool hats, sunglasses, jewelry, bags, and belts will be featured at discounted rates from different stores throughout the mall. I received a size medium Ann Taylor Loft's signature shirt to style for their Work the Shirt challenge and since I'm pretty petite, I wore it as a shirt dress (with shorts underneath of course) during my birthday weekend getaway to Arizona. The rich blue color made me want to pair it with hints of turquoise and a dash of subtle red for flavor. Since I was going to go on a hike through Oak Creek Canyon (post to come), I wanted to wear something comfortable and cute - hence the tan ankle boots. This was a super easy look that can be worn many ways but accessories can really make the difference. By adding a statement necklace, it made this masculine outfit a bit more feminine which I absolutely loved.
